ATLANTIC CITY COUNCIL BANS SMOKING IN CASINOS
Thanks to the efforts of coalition members of NJ Breathes, the Institute of Medicine and Public Health of NJ’s (IOMPHNJ) flagship project, and others, including casino workers, public health advocates, and the public, smoking will be prohibited on the gambling floor at all eleven Atlantic City casinos as of October 15, 2008.
The New Jersey Smoke Free Air Act was implemented on April 15, 2006 and is viewed as an important step toward eliminating one of the most significant public health threats faced today.
