Why Contribute to Political Action Committees?
Because you can’t afford not to contribute! Your adversaries understand this. Lawyers and insurance company executives understand the importance of political action to their businesses. So should you! The legislative process is ongoing and if medicine’s interests are NOT represented they will be left out. To be effective you must “stay in the game” every year. An investment in MedAC is an investment for your profession and in your patients’ access to quality medical care.
Be sure your voice is heard over that of the trial lawyers and insurance companies in Trenton and Washington by contributing to MedAC’s Capitol Club ($1,000) or Capitol Club Elite ($2,500). There are also several other contribution categories and any contribution is appreciated.

MedAC Exceeds 2006 goal of $250K!
MedAC, MSNJ’s Medical Action Committee, exceeded its 2006 goal of $250,000. Total MedAC contributions for 2006 were $278,696. MedAC, MSNJ’s state PAC and JEMPAC, MSNJ’s federal PAC, are the single largest voice representing New Jersey physicians and the patients they serve. The physician MedAC/JEMPAC Board votes to support bipartisan candidates who understand the issues affecting healthcare today. The legislative process is ongoing and without your contributions medicine’s interests will not be represented. New Jersey’s physicians face many issues that threaten the doctor-patient relationship, including, managed care cutbacks and abuses, rising medical liability premiums, PIP cutbacks, and countless more. These problems will not be resolved unless physicians remain active in the legislative process and part of staying in the game is making an investment in MedAC.
Political action is patient care.
Dr. John Poole, Chairperson of the MedAC/JEMPAC Board of Directors and the first Capitol Elite Club member of 2007, would like to recognize and thank those who contributed to MedAC’s Capitol Club (contributions at the $1,000 level) and Capitol Club Elite (contributions of $2,500) as well as everyone who made a contribution.
We want to especially recognize our Capitol Club members for investing in support of our profession.
